She trys to split her time between austin and nashville. She has a dog named eleanor and she goes everywhere with her.
She started working at a restaurant when she was 14. She was bussing tables in chinese food place in bastrop texas where her dad was staying at the time. When she turned 15, She started waiting tables. When she was 16 she worked at souper-salads. She quit when summer ended, right before school started again. She hated school and would have done anything to get out of it. She signed up for a work program in school in order to get half-days at school. A classroom environment was never good for her.
After finishing highschool She got job at chilis, at the same time, she was selling merchandise for a local country band and traveling around with them to small town bars in texas on the weekends when they had shows. She wanted to live life instead of working there all the time, and focus more on photos. She eventually quit and took a huge leap into photography.
When she lived with her brother he had a darkroom in their laundry room. He bought her a film camera. She found it interesting and had fun learning the ropes. A few years later she bought herself a point and shoot camera. She started taking photos of where she was to preserve the memories. By 2010, her side-hobby had turned into a full blown obsession.
What inspires Emily is always changing. She looks for new inspiration daily so it could be ever-changing. Things that remain constant for her are color, faces, moments, light and finding beauty in the little things. Color has always played a big role in her images. Faces are important, she thinks of them as a lasting time-capsule.

Her images are better then mine (obviously). I couldn't really find a field to put my dog in so i found a bush instead. And her photo with the diffrent colored rocks is really cool but I could only find pebbles and woodchips. The leaf one was fun to do beacuse my brother helped me find diffrent colored leaves from all over the yard.
